Junction Housing recognises that access to stable, affordable and accessible housing is an essential pre-requisite for the health and well-being of all individuals and families.

 

As an operational division of Southern Junction Community Services, Junction Housing aims to work collaboratively with all levels of government, other community organisations and the private sector to provide high quality appropriate and affordable housing options.

 

Junction Housing aspires to achieve the following key objectives:

• Increase access to good quality affordable and sustainable housing for South Australians
• Foster good health, well being and community connectedness through the provision of stable housing
• Contribute to environmental and economic sustainability

 

 

Junction Housing Strategy

In response to the large unmet need for affordable housing Junction Housing has developed a five year strategy which aims to:

 

Construct approximately 500 new houses for affordable rental Provide affordable housing to households on incomes that are:

• Very low (Under 50% of state median income)

• Low (50-80% of state median income)

• Moderate (80-120% of state median income)

 

Contribute to environmental sustainability by incorporating energy efficient design features in plans for new housing stock. Stimulate the local economy by:

• Developing and mobilising the local construction industry workforce,

• Promoting the use of local manufacturers and suppliers

• Participating in ‘Social Enterprise’ initiatives
